Independence Day

It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years to us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show. The main Programme is celebrated at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides this festival is also celebrated in every city and town, in schools, colleges and universities.

71’s Independence Day was celebrated with great respect at Shridhar University. The Vice Chancellor Brig. Kartar Singh was the Chief Guest of the Programme. He hoisted the national flag on the University building sharp at 9:00 am. All the students and Staff saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem. Then followed the Cultural Programme. The students sang the patriotic song, and presented many other cultural programmes. Brig. Kartar Singh emphasized on hard work and honesty. He urged the students to search for new fields of work and to be careful towards health and hygiene. He said that the sovereignty and integrity of the country should be maintained. The celebration ended with vote of thanks. All the staff members were present at the occasion. Sweets were distributed at the end of the program.
